Boy do I have a lot of catching up to do!

We had a crazy Summer in 2009, starting in April when John started throwing up blood, LOTS of it! NOT GOOD! Our ER experience was absolutely horrible! I seriously thought he was going to die right before my eyes! It was Scary! We later learned that he had a 7 pound tumor in his esophagus that had to be removed! YIKES!

Dr. Dhudshia was the surgeon that removed the Tumor! He did a great job, except that he had to cut his vocal chord in order to get that huge things out! That meant another surgery down the road! John was in ICU for over two weeks! And in the hospital for a total of 34 days!

Lucky Penny! Whoa!! Ü

Ok so Mr. B comes running into the house today, saying,"Mom! You will never guess what happened!" ~ WHAT?, you won the sweepstakes? ~ "No!" ~ Bummer!!!~ I threw a penny on the cooler in the garage (I can believe that Ü) and it bounced off onto the floor (I can believe that too) and it LANDED STANDING UP!!! ~~ WHAT!! Now THAT I don't believe!! So he grabbed my cell phone and ran out and took a picture of it!!! WHOA! So this is not a very clear picture but you can tell that it is definitely standing up!! Well how the heck did THAT happen? Pretty amazing A? He declared it the luckiest penny EVER, and swore to keep it forever! Ü Check it out:

Have you ever heard this saying: Find a penny, pick it up, all the day have good luck? Well here is the new version: Throw a penny, stand it up, all your life you'll have good luck!! Ü Way to go Mr. B. looks like you're set for life! Now where is that sweepstakes entry form? Ü

I love gardening!

Ok so I am not your, "shower me with flowers" kind of girl, I think it is kind of sad that cut flowers have such a short life, but I absolutly LOVE flowers that bloom where they are planted and this weekend I did me a LOT of planting, I have the sore muscles to proove it too! Ü But it is a good kind of sore, there is nothing like digging your hands into the dark rich soil, and giving a home to some of God's most beautiful creations! I love all the breath taking colors of flowers in full bloom, they are so vibrant and beautiful, they remind me every time I look at them that Heavenly Father sure must love us to give us this pure kind of beauty here on earth! So go ahead, enjoy my flowers, if you listen close I bet you will hear it in every picture too---I Love You! Ü

28 Wonderful Years Together!

Wow! 28 years ago today I was kneeling across the alter looking into the beautiful, gentle eyes of someone who I thought I could not possibly love more! HA! That was just puppy love Ü compared to the love that I feel, 2 wonderful boys, a gorgeous daughter-in-law, two beautiful grandbabies, and 28 years later! I have been sooo blessed to be married to "one of the good ones"! Ü

What a blessing to go into the temple as Marchelle Brox and come out Marchelle Aird! Whodda thunk that I could possibly move UP in the alphabet when I was a "B" already, I mean what are the odds, really? Ü But since that day things have continued to go UP in my life because I have such a wonderful husband, companion and friend by my side! There is nothing better in this life than that!

Thanks, my little Johnsley for always taking care of me and always putting our family first! I didn't know how it could be possible but I love you even more today than I did 28 years ago! Thank you for being such a wonderful husband! Here's to the next 28 years together! 1-2-3! Ü

Please Vote! Ü To cut, or not to cut! That is the Question!?!

So here is Mr. "B", Just out of the bath sporting an alfalfa look, he's all happy and proud of his curls.........

....and here is the look I got when I said, "Ok time for a hair cut!!" Man! If looks could kill! Ü Ü Does this even look like Bryson?!!? I'm thinking not, so I'm taking a vote, should he cut his hair or leave it long?!?! Leave your comment and let us know! Ü

WHAT?!?

Please tell me I am NOT the only one that did not know about this!! Good Grief I have been using saran wrap and aluminum foil for the better part of 40 years and I never knew about these little tabs that you are suppose to press in to keep the roll from popping out of the box every time you need a piece! Holy Crap! I don't think I have EVER gotten a piece of foil withOUT the roll coming out of the box!! Well NOT any more, I marched right in to check to see if MY box had these little tabs and low and behold it DID!! I imeadiately punched them in and I am happy to report that every piece of foil I have taken off since then, I have done WITHOUT the roll popping out of the box!! It's so much easier! Oye Vay! This is something that I was never taught by my mother so I am thinking that she didn't know either, so come on tell me the truth, did you know about this little secret? And if so, at what age did you find out?!? Ü Just curious how many years YOU have had to fight with the foil box too! Ü
This picture really warmed my heart! It was taken in during the really bad fires they were having in Australia a while back! The poor little thing was dehydrated and had burned paws, you can almost feel the relief of this mama Koala and she gets a much needed drink from a kind fireman! God Bless the firemen who not only risk their lives to save people, but innocent animals as well!

Mr. B - The little stud muffin! Ü

Bryson's teacher asked for a picture of him for her lesson today and we didn't really have any recent one of him so we decided to take some, and I like them so much I thought I would post them here, so you can see how handsome he is! Ü Ya ok, so I'm prejudice! But aren't these cute?!

This is the smile of a kid who just got his report card and once again managed to get straight A's! Whooo hooo! Way to go Mr. B

Whoa! You should have seen the HUGE stump they removed from someones yard Saturday for a service project! What a stud! I'm thinking he is half super hero after seeing THAT big thing! Ü He is soooo good to go help with stuff like that! His favorite thing to do is to go help people move! Can you say future EQP! Ü

This is usually the look I get when I try to ring his bell signaling the start of school!! Ü But hey If YOU had a chair like THAT to sit in at school wouldn't YOU want to go?!? Ü He is wearing his favorite hoodie that Brock and Aryann gave him for Christmas! He Loves that thing!

This is the look of the New Councilor in the Teachers Quorum! Which he got called to today! Ü CHA! He loves going to those meetings! But hey, when there are only three kids in your class, you are bound to have to go to meetings sometime right?! Ü

Awwww, just a boy and his dawg! Look they kinda got the same sticking up hair and the same goofy grin on their face! It IS true that owners start looking like their pets!! Ü Ü Ü

Look at those gorgeous green eyes and all those sun kissed freckles! I think I'll keep him! Ü

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN!

Once again John's Sisters spoiled him for his birthday! They always think of the funnest and most thoughtful gifts, and this year was no different! WOW!

As you know, John's dad passed away when he was only two years old, his mom used to tell me that he was just like him though--So all I can say is that he must have been a wonderful person, cuz that is what John is! Anyway, this year for John's birthday his Sister Carm gave up something very precious to her to pass it along to John, and that was and old stapler, a calendar, and a hole punch that used to belong to his father! He used them and had then on HIS desk for years! Now that John has a desk of his own, His sisters thought those would be a good thing to pass down to him! OH MY! What sweethearts! They really do love their brother! That was the most thoughtful gift and we were both soooo touched by it! I confess, I already knew they were coming because Carm had told me to watch for them, and the minute John started opening the box I got tears in my eyes, knowing how precious those things would be to HIM too! I felt like his dad came right out of that box with those things and gave John a big Birthday hug! I know that he is proud of him and that his dad AND his mom are on the other side always watching over him! Anyway, those things are now sitting proudly on John's desk and bring sweet memories of his dad every time he looks at them! What a wonderful gift!

Here is John reading his birthday cards, his sisters also gave him money to go towards book shelves that we will also put in his office..........

....And they gave him the DVD of Glenn Beck's where he is telling his story, about the Christmas Sweater! Oh my, that was soooooo good! We are BOTH excited to get that! Ü Here, he is just reading about it because they had to order it and it is still going to take two months! That's ok, it's worth the wait! Ü

I just realized.....what an appropriate Shirt John is wearing for this occasion! Cuz everything WAS "WAY COOL"!!! Ü What a Great Birthday! I love you John, and hope that we get to celebrate 50 MORE birthdays together! Ü

Have you ever seen a ONE hole paper punch? Well you are seeing one now! Is this cool or what?!

Here are all three of tools Carm sent to John, the stapler, the Calendar, and the hole punch!

This is sooo cool! I am not sure how old they are but I am guessing at LEAST 70 years, maybe more! This reminds me of an old flat iron that you have to put in fire to heat up! I LOVE this little thing it's so cute!

And here is the perpetual calendar set on John's birthday! Happy Birthday John, Love Dad! Ü Isn't this the coolest!?!? Yes! It still works, perfectly!

Here is the stapler! This WOULD work if we could find staples for it, but it seems to be to narrow for the staples they make today! Bummer! It still looks cool though, it reminds me of the staplers my teachers used to have on their desks! Dang am I THAT old!?!
